The films presented here are a personal archive of my moving image work.
As a photographer, filmmaker and educationalist I am interested in the language of representation. What does it mean to create images with a camera and how can an art process express ideas to an audience?
I have been engaged in practice-based research for ten years, looking at, and responding to, the history of women's use of amateur domestic technology to make moving image.
Women's independent moving images interrupt traditional mainstream narratives about women's lack of agency in filmmaking and challenge the assumption that women do not make film in any significant numbers.
