This is a collection of moving image made over a period of ten years, exploring the haptic quality of video.
All the works in this collection were finished and edited digitally. However, in many cases, the original source material was Super 8 cine, Hi8 videotape or mini DV tape.
These works explore themes such as vernacular photography, found images and domestic video making. Manipulation plays with particular topographical characteristics of video and digital image construction.
These films are about family relationships across generations, inherited trauma, the timelessness of parenting. The materiality of the video works to reflect the ambiguity inherent in both the relationships themselves and their representation with moving image.
